Filming in the Park
Ant & Dec were here filming a small piece for a show. It's always nice to see them and they both commented on how wonderful the course was looking "just a shame we don't get any time to play it" said the boys!
Trip to IKEA!
So Tuesday afternoon just gone the sky turned blue and the temperature went up enough for me to take my waterproof jacket off! There was no one on the golf course which was manicured more than Cheryl Cole in an L'Oréal ad. It was stunning, you couldn't wish for a better evening to play golf. So I thought I would ring Mrs Wingrove and tell her, that's right, tell her that we are walking the course on this beautiful, warm evening and I was not going to take no for an answer.
Wind the clock forward 2 hours, I'm now sitting in the returns department at IKEA. How nice it was watching the sun go down between the two big chimneys, Croydon never looked better!! On the back of our ticket informed us that the average waiting time to be seen for returns in this wonderful department was just 6 minutes! So after 20 minutes' and knowing the ins and outs of IKEA, Sharon and Shirley's love life or lack of it and how lazy both their husbands are, we managed to get served.
We were returning a piece of wood that cost 7 quid! Yes £7.00, now I can look miserable with the best of them and even though I'm on the happy pills, they didn't help, didn't help at all. When it comes to stuff like this "we are not made of money" apparently! I didn't think it was the right time to ask her the cost of the crescent of hello, Heat, ok, Vanity Fair magazines I never read!
And so it starts. Now if you have not visited an Ikea outlet please do so because it's always nice to see how your taxes are being spent. How nice it is to see families of 4-5-6s wondering around shouting at each other and spending our fortune, sorry their fortune. On the other hand you sometimes see young loved up couples laughing and cuddling with each other looking for soft furnishings and dim lighting as they start out on loves young highway. Meanwhile, Suzie is waving a large toilet brush in the air like a flag in Les Miserables, "is this ok" shouts my loving wife.
So 2 hours later we bought loads of stuff for Harry's room and a few things for Suzie and of course everything I wanted was a waste of money and time but it's not all gloom and doom I did come away with a plastic shoehorn.
Congratulations to Robert Stroud for winning the Maddick Bowl last weekend.
Also Congratulations to Tom Harris for his hole on one at the 11th.
